Where they are the same

Both offer a cheap commission account with an all-in EURUSD cost near 0.7 pips, copy trading, swap-free accounts, deposit bonuses, crypto funding and negative balance protection. Entry is low at both: $50 at Vantage, $100 at BullWaves.

Where they differ

Regulation. This is the main line. Vantage carries tier-1 and tier-2 licences plus Lloyd's insurance up to $1 million per client. BullWaves has the Seychelles FSA and nothing else. Both arrangements are legal; the amount of protection is not comparable.

Age. 2009 against 2023. Vantage has two market crises and a public payout history behind it; BullWaves has three years.

Platforms. Vantage runs MT4, MT5, TradingView, its own app and ProTrader. BullWaves runs MT5 only. If your expert advisors are written in MQL4, the question is already answered.

Instruments. Vantage lists over a thousand, including crypto CFDs. BullWaves has around 200 and no crypto.

Entry-level account. 1.0 pip against 1.6. If a commission account does not suit you for some reason, BullWaves is markedly more expensive.

Geography. BullWaves does not accept clients from Israel or Belgium. Vantage serves both.

Cost in money

One EURUSD lot on the commission account costs roughly $7 all-in at either broker. On the entry-level account it is about $10 at Vantage and about $16 at BullWaves. At ten one-lot trades a month, that $6 gap is $720 a year — which is why we recommend the commission account everywhere.

Who each suits

Take Vantage if this is your main account, if the deposit is meaningful, if you are in Israel or Cyprus, if you work in MT4 or from TradingView charts, or if you need crypto CFDs.

Take BullWaves if you are already on MT5, want a second account for copying, and forex, metals and indices are enough. Keep on it only what you are prepared to lose in full — the rule for any offshore broker.

Our verdict

Vantage if you want a safety net and platform choice — ASIC and FCA licences, Lloyd's insurance up to $1 million, MT4, MT5 and TradingView, entry from $50. BullWaves if you have already settled on MT5 and want the cheapest ECN account with copy trading in one place. Trading cost is close to identical; the difference is protection and breadth.

Frequently asked questions

Which is safer?

Vantage. The group has traded since 2009 and holds ASIC, FCA, FSCA, CIMA, FSC Mauritius and VFSC licences, with Lloyd's of London insurance up to $1 million per client. BullWaves holds one offshore licence — Seychelles FSA — and has traded since 2023.

Which is cheaper to trade?

Almost identical. Vantage Raw ECN is 0.0 pips plus $3 per lot per side; BullWaves ECN is 0.1 plus roughly $3. All-in EURUSD cost is around 0.7 pips at both. The entry-level accounts differ far more — 1.0 pip at Vantage against 1.6 at BullWaves.

Which has better copy trading?

Vantage has the wider ecosystem — its own platform plus DupliTrade and Myfxbook AutoTrade, with tens of thousands of signal providers. BullWaves builds copying into the client area, which is simpler to switch on but offers fewer strategies.
