RoboForex Minimum Deposit: The Formal Minimum vs What You Actually Need
RoboForex minimum deposit is from $10. Why that is too little for sane risk, how much you need for your stop and lot size, and how to calculate it in a minute.
The formal minimum
From $10. Account types: ProCent, Pro, ECN, Prime, R StocksTrader. The minimum is the threshold at which the broker opens an account, not the amount at which trading makes sense.
The real minimum for your risk
Risk 1% per trade, and that 1% must be at least the cost of 0.01 lot at your stop. On EURUSD with a 30-pip stop, 0.01 lot costs $3, so the deposit should be $300 or more. With a 50-pip stop, $500. On a cent account the threshold is a hundred times lower, which is why we point beginners there.
Calculate it for your instrument and stop in the position size calculator.
What else eats a small deposit
Spreads and commissions (Pro from 1.3 pips no commission; ECN from 0.0 + $2 per lot per side; Prime from 0.0 + $1.5), swaps on held positions, and payment-provider fees. On a $10 deposit one trade can cost a percent of the account before price moves at all.
Where to start small
Cent accounts are available at Vantage and VT Markets from $50.
